Positive Reviews

Superb location

This historic hotel is in an ideal location in Lawrence. Guests are adamant that you simply cannot find a better place to stay in the area. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, and the University is just a short cab ride away.

Lovely service from all

The people that work here are said to be extremely professional yet very friendly. They love to chat with you each time you enter the hotel and will often do their best to remember your name.

Excellent wine list

There aren't many hotels that can boast such an extensive wine list and guests of this hotel are very impressed by this. There are even wine tasting evenings that guests can join which is for those that appreciate a fine wine.

Negative Reviews

Poor parking arrangements

The parking at this hotel seems to be pretty much non-existent, and you'll be hard pressed to find a spot for your car. It's not ideal, and a few guests have complained that they ended up with parking tickets after some misinformation from the hotel.

No in-room coffee

What is considered a standard amenity at most hotels these days is nowhere to be found at this place. Guests were rather upset that they couldn't enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while watching TV in the evening.

Furniture needs replacing

Even though the furniture looks okay, many guests have noticed that the chairs and tables are starting to get a little rickety. They don't feel too strong and are probably need to be replaced. Not a major complaint though as the beds are comfy.
