Positive Reviews

Portuguese breakfasts and warm, helpful staff

Breakfasts here were reportedly a sweet and simple affair, with the majority of people enjoying the Portuguese fare of delicious pastries, coffee, bread, meats and cheese, and also appreciating that this was changed every day.  Furthermore, the hosts of this guest house were reportedly not only warm and friendly people but were responsive to requests and happy to help people plan their trip or simply have a chat.

Alfama highlights & Santa Apolonia transport near

People who stayed at this guest house were happy with the convenience they had here since the National Pantheon and all the dining and history of the Alfama district could be reached with a short walk, as well as plenty of spots to check out a traditional Fado show. The rest of the city was also thought as being easy to reach, thanks to the metro station found just minutes below at the Santa Apolonia train station.

Tagus River views and sweet, comfy rooms

The Tagus River views were indeed enjoyed by those who stayed here and those who booked rooms with such an outlook recommended others to do the same. Rooms here were otherwise mentioned as being comfortable, clean and nicely decorated in themes based around traditional Portuguese desserts.

Negative Reviews

No A/C or noise with open windows

One of the only drawbacks to staying here seems to be the lack of air conditioning, which meant that guests sometimes had to leave their windows open — thus letting in the street noise that can be present in the lively Alfama.
