Positive Reviews

Convenient for Central London

While this hotel is handy for the Strand, it also proved to be especially convenient for those heading into central London’s Covent Garden and Charing Cross areas as well as for the city’s West End/Theatreland district.

Well-Presented and Friendly Staff

The regal exterior of this property is distinctly impressive, as are its common areas, which many guests noted are particularly well-presented. The ambience here was enhanced by consistently friendly staff, who went out of their way to offer guest assistance.

Bars and Breakfasts

Guests loved the property’s multiple bars, with the Gin Palace continuously being mentioned by name for its fab cocktails. In terms of eating, the buffet breakfast was lauded for its sheer range of offerings.

Negative Reviews

Lick of Paint Needed

Despite its striking façade and well-kept public areas, many felt that the property, on the whole, is in need of a bit of a refresh or a least a new coat of paint on its exterior.

Tiny, Sterile Units

Room size was problematic here, with guests consistently commenting on their cramped quarters. Individual units also seemed to lack character and many felt that rooms themselves were decidedly sterile in terms of their appearance.

Thin Walls and Street Noise

Thin walls were an on-going complaint at this central London hotel, with noise from neighbouring units filtering into guest rooms. Also, those with rooms facing the Strand said that the constant hum of traffic was clearly audible in their units.
