Positive Reviews

Exceptional hosts

This property is family owned and run, something the reviews suggest makes a world of difference. Guests note only good things about the owner-hosts, saying they offer a very warm welcome and provide an excellent service throughout the duration of a stay. It is, however, guests who find themselves in a bit of a bind who really sing their praises. They report that the hosts go to great lengths to resolve any problems that arise during a stay.

Great accommodation all round

Guests are clearly very impressed with the actual suites and cabins at this property. For a start, they like the quirky Swiss design, which seems to put them in an instant holiday mood. They also note that everything is well laid out, properly maintained, and that the units have all that they need for an independent stay. The inclusion of kitchen facilities in each unit is especially appreciated.

Freshly baked cookies

It seems this lodge offers their guests free cookies, both on arrival and at other times. This small gesture is a big hit with guests, who note that they are freshly baked and delicious.

Negative Reviews

Stairs in some units

Guests warn that stair climbing is required in some cases, whether to access a unit or within it. It is recommended that those with mobility concerns carefully check the set-up before committing to a specific unit. Most guest reviews note the first floor accommodations are better suited for those who have difficulty navigating stairs.

Older Property

Travellers who are used to contemporary accommodations will not find that at this lodge which has been in operation since the late 1950s. Specifically, guests were not fans of the old furniture and decor.

Smells of Dog

While the hotel is super dog-friendly, guests who do not have pets did notice the animal smell in their rooms. Others noted that their room smelled strongly of dogs and the odor never went away while they were there.
