Popular mountain resort location

Guests loved the fresh mountain air and scenery at this property’s location just off State Route 203 and a short drive from US Route 395 in Mammoth Lakes, California. Sightseers and outdoors enthusiasts welcomed the proximity of the breathtaking Yosemite National Park, a paradise for hiking and rock-climbing. Skiers and snowboarders loved the proximity of ski slopes in the eastern Sierra Nevada. It was also conveniently close to downtown, gas stations, bus stops and restaurants. Drivers appreciated the free parking.

Upbeat about rooms

The modernized rooms were reportedly basic but appealed to visitors, who liked the flat-screen TVs and new look decor. Many said their rooms were clean, well-maintained and comfortable. Those prioritizing affordability welcomed the comparatively reasonable room rates in an often pricey resort. It was also convenient that many rooms had parking spaces right outside, making it easy to unload sports equipment.

Good customer service

Reviewers spoke highly of the pleasant, helpful and attentive personnel who had plenty of local knowledge. Animal owners appreciated the pet-friendly policy.

Negative Reviews

Nuisance noises and smells reported

Although many guests said they enjoyed a fairly peaceful stay, some light sleepers noted that noise from adjoining rooms and walkways sometimes carried into their rooms and caused a nuisance. Lingering smoky smells also bothered some visitors.

Occasional flaws noted in some rooms

Reviewers sometimes struggled to adjust the room temperature to their liking in some rooms or commented that their rooms felt pretty small, especially when fully occupied. Some guests disliked the thin towels and bemoaned the lack of toiletries and coffee-makers. There were occasional reports of floors that could have been better swept.

Charges for Wi-Fi were unpopular

Guests disliked having to pay for Wi-Fi and some claimed the network offered unimpressive speeds and a patchy signal in certain rooms.
