Train Spot Guesthouse, created in the former Marvão/Beirã train station, offers to all young-hearted visitors the fun experience of living in an industrial era station, to discover the Natural Park where it is situated and the traditional "Raianos" culture of the Portuguese/Spanish border in Alto Alentejo.
With the capacity to host 24 people, Train Spot Guesthouse offers a wide range of accommodation which can suit different budgets and needs, offering great comfort for about a price of a hostel, ranging from rooms with shared bathroom, rooms with private bathroom to apartments with a private garden. Breakfast is served daily from a regional menu and can be enjoyed in the common spaces - kitchen, lounge, terrace, gardens or even while sitting on the train tracks.
Situated on a quiet Beirã village, Train Spot is only a few minutes' drive away from the mediaeval town of Marvão (the highest one in Portugal), Castelo de Vide, the Roman ruins of Ammaia, Sever river natural pools, and many other magical places in Marvão.
Throughout the year Train Spot organizes different cultural events at the station, open to the general public, from music concerts and local artist exhibitions to traditional gastronomic events. On request, the guesthouse can organize various activity packages for guests: horse riding along the Serra de São Mamede range, learning how to make bread in a wood oven, walks along the ancient Smugglers trail, or just having an Alentejo snack.
