Positive Reviews

Palatial rooms

There is no doubting the hotel’s claims to a glorious colonial past because so much of it is retained and is here for visitors to see. Guests find, for instance, that the room spaces are massive and are a poignant reminder of days gone by. A visit here is a step back in time, but in a good way.

Versatile staff

Management and staff are always very friendly and helpful. The services they provide run like clockwork and they are eager to help guests in any way possible. Some guests, pondering on a jaunt to the joys of Jodhpur which is some 170 miles away, find that staff will instantly make arrangements and sort out a driver. Just like that.

Negative Reviews

Low levels of maintenance

Maintenance issues include the lack of hot water. It is a common problem but, somehow, guests don’t expect to find it in a place like this. Generally, a glance around the room suggests that things are beginning to fall apart, as instanced by the flaky bathroom furniture.

Concerns over catering

Everything is on such a grand scale that any weaknesses are emphasised. In this context, guests feel that the hotel is let down by its own catering standards. They are unimpressive in a setting which, otherwise, takes the breath away. Also, it comes as a surprise to find that there is no room service here.

It is over-priced

The things that are missing cause guests to reflect on the really quite high tariff. If simple upgrades could be implemented, then the cost would be considered to be reasonable. Eyebrows are also raised when a charge is registered for the usually free Wi-Fi service. With everything considered, guests say that the hotel is over-priced.
