About Hotel Royal

The Hotel Royal Hotel is centrally located in Munich, just some 300 metres from the railway station. It is a perfect base for exploring the town or for experiencing the world-renowned Oktoberfest folk festival.

The recently renovated rooms have a cosy feel, decorated with warm colours and comfortable fittings. The windows are soundproofed and there are flat screen TVs with Sky Movies and Sports channels. There is also a desk and in-room safe.

The Hotel Royal Hotel has free Wi-Fi throughout and a business corner in the lobby.

As Munich town centre is a short walk away, there are many places to eat out and several bars not far from the hotel.

Positive Reviews

Not far from Munich's main attractions

Guests book in at the Royal Hotel for its central position, near the railway station. As well as having all the historical centre's attractions within a short walk, you also have other forms of transport on your doorstep. This includes the Metro and buses, as well as the trains. The surrounding area has many shops and bars too.

Excellent value

Rates appear to differ considerably from one booking to another. However, some guests testify to getting incredible deals. As the hotel is clean, comfortable and central guests feel like they have got incredible value.

Friendly staff

The staff in the hotel are attentive and friendly according to a vast number of guests. They are enthusiastic in giving advice and resolve issues effectively.

Negative Reviews

In red light zone

The satisfaction of having found such a great value central hotel wears off when guests notice the high concentration of sex shops, strip bars and lap-dancing clubs scattered around. The area is shabby and with some dodgy looking people lurking around some guests feel a bit intimidated, especially single females. Many guests finally admit that the area is actually quite safe, but they wouldn't recommend you bring children or your grandma with you!

Can get hot

It's not just the establishments around the Royal Hotel that can get pretty hot - so can the rooms. With the lack of air-conditioning guests warn that the rooms can become unbearable in the summer heat.

Noisy

The streets around the hotel can get pretty noisy. Although the soundproofed windows block much of it out, they can do little to stop the reverberating bass coming from the strip-club beneath the hotel. Also with no air-conditioning, guests are confronted by the unenviable choice - heat or noise!
