About White Orchid

The verdant grounds at White Orchid are dominated by shady palm trees. The hotel is located in the quieter suburb of Naganahalli. The busy city centre is approximately ten kilometres from this peaceful setting.

Air-conditioned rooms are en suite and feature a TV, telephone and complimentary toiletries. The various floors are serviced by a lift.

A focal point at White Orchid is the outdoor pool. Inside the hotel, there is a beauty salon, plus Wi-Fi and facilities for games such as table tennis. Extensive on-site parking is available.

Following breakfast, the restaurant‘s dining choices trend towards an international appeal. Alternative restaurants such as Poojari's Fish Land, and Nilgiri Dhaba are both within a five-minute walk from the hotel.

It is approximately nine kilometres to Mysore Palace and to Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens. Indoor bowling fun at Krazy Bowl is five kilometres away. It is 14 kilometres to the unique appeal of sand art at Mysuru Sand Sculpture Museum.

Positive Reviews

So near, and yet so far away

This budget hotel is in a quieter suburban district. It is away from, but with easy access to, what the city centre has to offer. Guests are pleased to find that these contrasting atmospheres are within such easy reach of each other.

A last-minute solution

Because of its location, the hotel tends not to get booked to capacity as quickly as those hotels that are closer to the city centre. Consequently, guests planning a last-minute break find they can usually get accommodation here. Even during the busy September and October Dasara Festival period, rooms are often available, they say.

Negative Reviews

A dining lottery

The restaurant serves only vegetarian food, which is not to everyone’s taste. Also, the restaurant is not always open, but no reason is given. Guests without transportation are then faced with a five- minute walk to neighbouring eateries.

Staff training is required

There are always exceptions to the rule but, generally, guests find that members of staff are abrupt and unhelpful. They wonder if this is due to weak management.

Poorly maintained throughout

The surroundings are really attractive and form a perfect outdoor setting for the pool. Sadly, the pool is not very clean and so guests are deterred from using it. The advertised indoor games facilities have fallen into disrepair, it seem, and the rooms there are problems with essential items including, air conditioning and erratic power and water supplies. At the end of the day, guests feel this is just a poorly maintained hotel with a pool and gardens. To describe it as a resort is misleading, they feel.
