Positive Reviews

Unique hotel ambiance.

Several people said they appreciated the unique charm of the building, which appeared to be vintage but wasn't. In general people found their rooms to be comfortable and nicely decorated.

Great views and gardens.

There were also some positive remarks about the lovely views of the sea from the room balconies. A few guests also said they enjoyed taking a stroll in the property's nice gardens.

Generally friendly employees.

Though customer service may be a bit lacking and slow at times, most people said they did find staff members to be very friendly.

Negative Reviews

Be prepared for a bit of a workout.

Upon arrival, guests said they had to hike up a fairly large stone staircase to get to the reception area. There is no lift, and many guests also said no one came out to assist with luggage. People with mobility issues may have trouble with this, so visitors should be prepared in advance.

A few things lacking.

There were comments about dim lighting in the rooms and lack of adequate privacy doors or curtains in the bathrooms. It was also mentioned that bottled water is not provided or available for purchase on-site, so guests should be prepared.

A couple of additional complaints.

There were negative remarks about the meals being expensive and not worth the price; several people also said they had to wait a long time for their food to be served. There were also a few complaints about reservations not being honored - one guest even had to stay at another hotel upon arrival. It has been suggested to call and get a solid confirmation of one's booking before showing up at the hotel.
