About Harbourside

Harbourside Apartments provide self-contained accommodation near the Harbour Foreshore in Newcastle.

Positive Reviews

Location is a no brainer!

What a place to return to at the end of a hectic day's sightseeing or business. The setting is attractive, although not totally ‘harbourside' as the name suggests - and very peaceful. One Mile Beach and Anna Bay are nearby and make for easy excursions.

The key to car success.

The keypad idea is easy to operate and saves all that bother with finding the right key. The lock-up garage for the (smallish) car is brilliant.

Plenty of space.

The apartment is spacious and there is certainly a relaxed, homely feel that's lacking in most hotels.

Negative Reviews

If only

If only … the apartment itself lived up, in some small way, to this beautiful location, then everything would be just perfect. Sadly, from the heavenly exterior, it's down to earth with a bump inside. Everything is functional, but there are cleaning issues, the apartment is rather dated and drab and two singles shoved together never make for a satisfactory double bed.

Fines get a cool response.

How insulting it is to be told how to behave and to have details of the huge fines you'll incur if you spill something. Everything is detailed on the fridge and the amounts charged bear no reality to the damage you may cause. It just seems to be just another way to squeeze more money out of you. Not nice.

A bit of a let-down.

The kitchen doesn't have the full complement of items to deal with the number of guests. Due partly, no doubt, to cleaning issues there are far too many cockroaches and insects lurking around. The lock-up garage is only great if you have a small car, otherwise you can't get in!
