Positive Reviews

Perfect location in the heart of Newport

Guests were quite satisfied with the location of the inn. Downtown Newport is relatively small and the inn is located right in the heart of this area. Guest felt that they could quite easily walk to the waterfront, cafes, shops and the other amenities of the quaint town.

Excellent breakfast offered

It was nearly impossible to find a harsh word written about the breakfast served every morning. Guests found it to be tasty, plentiful and also said that the staff would make every effort to accommodate those with special dietary needs.

The oatmeal cookies

Breakfast wasn’t the only culinary attraction. Guests also pointed out that special oatmeal cookies are available at reception in the afternoons, which they found to be a wonderful, and tasty, gesture

Negative Reviews

Odd layout of bedrooms and public areas

Many guests reported finding the layout of the inn to be a little odd. They mentioned that the bedrooms were right off either the dining room or the lounge. In both cases this resulted in guests being able to hear conversations in these areas and presumably those in the public areas could also hear the people in the bedrooms. A number of guests were uncomfortable with this situation.

Rooms were a bit small

This inn is located in an odder colonial style building, where rooms are often smaller than those in modern purpose built hotels. Guests reported that the rooms were indeed on the small side, so those who really like their space may not be 100% satisfied.

Awkward parking

It was mentioned that the off-street parking was in the driveway and that in order for some guests to get out other cars often had to be moved first.
