Whether you head into cute little Ogunquit or you stay put at the resort, you'll appreciate the ambiance. Situated on 12 manicured acres, the Dunes on the Waterfront Resort provides cozy yet well-equipped cabins, quiet activities, and access to a charming beachside town.

Swim in the Atlantic

Depending upon the time of day, the Atlantic Ocean is just a short boat ride or a mucky walk across the tidal river in front of the hotel. Once you reach the beach, though, the beauty of the ocean is all yours to behold, lounge at, fish, or swim in.

Access the pool later in the season

Many hotels and resorts offer their guests access to an outdoor pool, which is great if the hotel is in the tropics. Most pools north of the Gulf Coast close down as soon as the weather gets brisk. Fortunately, since the resort pool is heated, you'll have access to it just a little longer than many others.

Negative Reviews

Choose your location wisely

Although the resort advertises ocean views, as some guests discovered the hard way, not all cottages come with them. A select few cabins actually include views of the Atlantic, but the other cabins still look out on the lovely landscaped nature of the resort grounds.

No onsite dining

Aside from a very light breakfast each morning, you won't find a solid meal at the resort. However, if you elect to stay in one of the cottages, you'll be provided with a full kitchen for DIY meals. There are also numerous bistros and eateries in nearby Ogunquit.

Thin walls leak noise

Some guests have mentioned that, even though the cottages at the Dunes on the Waterfront Resort are appealing and comfortable, their walls are a bit thin. Although it may not matter, due to your surroundings, you might hear your neighbors' comings and goings.
