Positive Reviews

Positive about location

The hostel's location in the 20th arrondissement of Paris suited most guests just fine. It was set in Belleville neighborhood with plenty of specialty food shops, trendy bars, cafes and restaurants. Many reviewers thought it made a refreshing change from staying in the heart of the city center surrounded by tourist hotspots. Some visitors said on reflection they would have preferred to be closer to the city center, but others noted it was reached easily enough by metro.

Friendly staff

Plenty of reviews described the staff as friendly, helpful and happy to share local knowledge for making the most of a visit to the French capital.

Good value option for travelers on a budget

Many reviewers felt their stay at this modern hostel represented good value for money due to the clean rooms, relaxed atmosphere, opportunities to socialize with fellow backpackers and reasonable room rates. With its funky decor and easy-going vibe, this accommodation seemed to be most popular with a younger international traveler crowd, who also appreciated the free breakfast including croissants, juice, coffee and cereals.

Negative Reviews

Rooms had drawbacks

While plenty of guests enjoyed a more than adequately comfortable stay, a few critics thought the rooms and en suite bathrooms were cramped. Guests who stayed in dormitories often noted a shortage of power sockets in their rooms.

Criticism of some facilities

The shared kitchen occasionally felt cramped during busiest periods, according to some critics. The eco-friendly push-button showers in the en suite bathrooms were an annoyance for some reviewers who disliked running out of water every 20 seconds.

Occasional Wi-Fi grumbles

During peak periods, some reviewers were annoyed that the free Wi-Fi network would occasionally slow down.
