About National Museum of Naval Aviation

Located at the Naval Air Station Pensacola, the National Museum of Naval Aviation traces the history of Naval Aviation from very basic wood and fabric to the modern composite construction of today. The museum is home to 150 restored aircraft representing all aspects of Naval aviation. It is housed both indoors and outdoors, utilizing 300 000 square feet of exhibit space. The seven story atrium showcases Blue Angel A-4 Skyhawks in diamond formation.

Pensacola NAS is also home to the U.S. Navy flight demonstration team, the Blue Angles. If visiting the museum on most Tuesdays and Wednesdays mornings it is possible to watch Blue Angel practices at 8:30 a.m., depending on flight conditions. Access is free and bleachers are available for up to 1000 people. An autograph session occurs after most Wednesday practices at the museum.

The museum also has an IMAX theater. Its hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please arrive 10 minutes before the show starts as no admittance is allowed thereafter.
The museum is open 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. Visitation to the museum is free but donations are welcome.
