Positive Reviews

Great conference venue

The staff are extremely professional and helped us get things up and running with a minimum of fuss Their great attitude really helped ease the tension suffered by some guests as organisers of a conference.

A warm highland welcome

You may know of the warm welcome extended to all tourists in Scotland, and at this hotel you will experience it firsthand The staff at the hotel are friendly and everyone from the housekeeping lady to the barman are extremely helpful.

A step back in time

The fact that the hotel used to be a watermill adds to the charm of this beautiful building The stone walls and wooden beams inside are a constant reminder of its past and add real character to the place Not something you find in many hotels today.

Negative Reviews

Average food in an amazing setting

When you walk into the restaurant, you feel like this is going to be a great meal, but some have said that once the plate arrives it looks like standard pub grub A little too expensive for such average food.

Bring the credit card if you want to drink

To say the drinks in the hotel bar are overpriced would be a huge understatement according to some They feel that the prices are comparable to a five-star hotel in London The many local pubs offer a cheaper option.

Tired décor needs updating

The staff in this hotel make your stay pleasant, but some feel that the hotel itself is badly in need of an update The rooms are old fashioned, and the décor throughout the hotel looks like something from the seventies with some modern pieces thrown in It would be a lovely hotel if renovated.
