Positive Reviews

It does what it says on the tin!

Easy to find and that’s a real plus in itself. Staff are helpful and unobtrusive and parking is easy and free. Facilities, generally, are good and so, yes, the overall picture is a good one.

Catering for all tastes

Room service, if required, is reliably efficient and standards in the restaurant measure up well with those in bigger London hotels. The restaurant itself is unusual. With curved dining booths, there is an air of, sometimes essential, privacy whilst at the same time, a sense of, being part of a social scene. Inviting!

It’s the business!

The hotel has rooms and facilities for both small and large meeting and conferences. There isn’t the hassle associated with busy, city centre hotels; staff are extremely co-operative and at the end of the day, guest rooms are comfortable and welcoming; perfect before hitting the bar and restaurant for dinner!

Negative Reviews

Take a gulp at breakfast time

You need your financial adviser in attendance when weighing up the cost of breakfast choices. There is a ‘Grab-n-Go’ option, although you may prefer to cut –n –run to a cheaper cafe down the road.

Great for taxi drivers – and a ‘tip’ for visitors

It’s a good distance from Portsmouth attractions so, unless you want to take the car and find your way around an unfamiliar city, the only other option is a taxi and quite a long journey – to virtually anywhere! These fares can mount up considerably, so it is always worth looking round the reception area for other lost souls with whom to share the cost, or stay put and wine and dine in the hotel!

Room at the top suffers a lot

High rise, top floor rooms and poor window insulation, augmented by that gale whistling in off the Solent, bring difficulties and a chill feel.
