Positive Reviews

Convenient and easy location

Situated in Reykjavik, you can step out of the hotel, walk on the main street called Laugavegur and get into the centre of town. The hotel is located in an alley so some people had trouble finding the place at first, but found the location accessible after that.

Basic amenities for a fair price

If you're looking for a tidy, no-frills hotel in Iceland at an affordable price, this is a good bet. You won't find luxurious amenities, but if you're looking to spend most of your time exploring outside anyway, it is good value for a place to sleep.

Relaxing, casual environment

The atmosphere of the guesthouse is casual. You can meet other travellers, socialise and chat over tea.

Negative Reviews

Share bathrooms with multiple people

The guesthouse has a shared bathroom arrangement, which led some guests to complain that they were waiting on as many as five rooms or 10 people. Also the bathrooms were dirty, had a foul odour and ran out of toilet paper, some guests reported.

Where's the staff?

Several guests reported that they never saw a guesthouse staff at the location. In order to check-in, guests had to find the key, but the instructions for access were unclear. You could have no human contact from the guesthouse staff at all, although some guests commented that they met the owner.

Breakfast service is unsatisfactory

Several people chose the guesthouse because they saw that breakfast was included. One reviewer reported that he found only a tub of butter. Others also said that the breakfast spread was too sparse.
