About Alessia & Calliope

Alessia & Calliope offers modern B&B accommodation in a converted old warehouse on the doorstep of the Vatican City – just a few hundred metres from St Peter's Square.

The four whitewashed en-suite bedrooms are all decorated in a bright and contemporary fashion with tiles floors and air-conditioning. Each one contains a mini-refrigerator, tea-and-coffee making facilities, a TV, and DVD player.

Alessia & Calliope provides free Wi-Fi and a shared kitchen for guests' use. Travellers with kids may enjoy the baby-sitting services. Luggage storage and airport shuttle services can be arranged.

Complimentary breakfast is offered in a local cafe. The Via delle Formaci, leading up to the Vatican City, is bursting with restaurants, including the hugely popular Pizza Zizza Cafeteria.

San Pietro railway station is just 300 metres from the accommodation, whilst there is a bus service nearby to the historic centre. The Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona are two kilometres away and can be reached in about 30 minutes walking.

Positive Reviews

Ideal for visiting the Vatican City

If exploring The Vatican City is near the top of your to do list, you couldn't be much better situated than this guesthouse. Guests say that you are just a few minutes' walk south of St Peter's Square and are quite close to San Pietro railway station. You can also get to the historic centre of Rome easily enough on the number 64 bus, stopping just outside the B&B What's more, the area hosts a large selection of restaurants and pizzerias.

Lovely host

Guests adore the manager of the guesthouse. She is just so friendly and helpful, with a pleasant and accommodating attitude.

Nice well-equipped accommodation

If you're looking for a great value alternative to a hotel, you may be in luck here. Guests say the rooms are comfortable and spacious with great facilities. You've got a refrigerator in your room and access to a coffee machine.

Negative Reviews

Breakfast is a bit light

Don't count on breakfast setting you up for the day or you'll probably be severely disappointed. Guests say it amounts to little more than a coffee and croissant at a local cafe.

Far from being sound-proof

The main inconvenience of this accommodation seems to be the noise from other guests coming and going. Guests say the walls are very thin, without much sound-proofing, so you can hear all the other guests.

Bed could be more comfortable

Many guests point out that the mattress isn't the most comfortable they have ever slept on.
