Positive Reviews

Handy location in center of historic Rome

For many reviewers, the hotel's biggest strength was its handy location in central Rome. Most of the city's magnificent sights were reachable on foot as were plenty of shopping and dining options. The Pantheon was about 15 minutes' walk away and it was just five minutes' walk to Spagna and Barberini metro stations. Guests liked the excellent views towards St Peter's Basilica and the Vatican from the roof terrace.

Friendly service and decent breakfast

Customer service generally attracted positive comments from visitors who called personnel helpful and friendly. Breakfast was popular with most visitors. It comprised a continental buffet with cereals, fruits, preserves and pastries. However, one or two unlucky reviewers eating on the outdoor terrace had to shield their al fresco breakfasts from cheeky local seagulls.

Hotel offered good value for central Rome

Quite a few guests referred to the hotel as basic but more than adequately comfortable and clean for a short stay in the city center, where value accommodation can be hard to obtain. Considering the decent standard of cleanliness and superb central location, most reviewers thought they got value for money.

Negative Reviews

Rooms and facilities had drawbacks

According to some visitors, the hotel would benefit from further modernization. Critics noted the elevator was small as were the bathrooms. There were reports of ineffective air-conditioning, broken TVs, mold in bathrooms, noisy plumbing and occasionally unreliable hot water. Guests felt some rooms were cramped and there were mixed reports over the comfort of the beds.

Soundproofing issues

Some light sleepers suggested soundproofing needed to be enhanced in order to better exclude street noise and sounds from adjacent rooms.

Claims of sketchy Wi-Fi

Visitors trying to access the free Wi-Fi network occasionally reported a weak signal or slow speeds.
