About Hotel Prince Galles

Hotel Prince Galles lies in a quiet residential area of Rome and yet it is within easy walking distance of many of the city’s tourist sites. The building dates back to the early 19th century.

There are 21 rooms at Hotel Prince Galles and they are decorated and furnished in traditional Italian style. An unusual feature is that the bedroom is in a separate loft area. LCD TV, radio, telephone and minibar are among the room inclusions. The bathroom has a hairdryer and heated towel rail. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas.

Luggage storage, safe deposit box and fax and photocopying services are available via the 24-hour front desk. Rooms are accessed via a lift. Parking is available nearby and is surcharged.

Buffet breakfast choices are available. Later, the many nearby restaurants include The Africa and Mama Angela.

It’s an easy walk to the world-famous Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and other Rome highlights. The Termini Metro Station is a few hundred yards away.

Positive Reviews

A really great location

You can walk with ease to a number of popular tourist spots, and the nearest metro station is only a few yards from the hotel. If you are here on a budget or just want the occasional snack, just pop around the corner to a nice little grocery store; Pam. It’s only a few hundred yards to the Termini Metro; great if you are visiting say Pompeii or Venice. It’s handy for the airport too.

Clean rooms and helpful staff

Members of staff are very nice and as helpful as they can be, given that not all of them speak English. Cleaning generally is OK and the hotel does have character; something that’s lacking in many hotels of today.

Imagine; a Rome room with a balcony!

Rooms apparently vary quite a lot but with a bit of luck, you’ll get a large one with a balcony and a Jacuzzi in the bathroom. The breakfast choices are good and appetising ... but served off-site and just round the corner.

Negative Reviews

It can be a moving experience

You don’t always get what you booked and because the hotel is part of a group, it doesn’t faze them at all to shunt you from one hotel to another, a bit like cattle. Some rooms, apparently, can be very small and not at all like the publicity.

Old and dated

The old building has some charm, but the equally old bedding does not. Other elderly features include a non-working shower and windows that haven’t been opened in years because they’ve been painted over.

The noise factor

There’s a lot of noise from the stairs and corridors and rooms aren’t soundproofed.
