Positive Reviews

Great location for sightseeing.

The Salford Arms hotel offers travellers an excellent base from which to explore the greater Manchester and Salford areas. The property is close to public transport including Salford Central Station and Victoria Railway Station. Nearby attractions include The Lowry, MEN Arena and the world famous Manchester United Football Stadium.

Basic and affordable rooms.

Room options include single, double and twin rooms and feature a few room comforts including a TV, free Wi-Fi and kettle with tea & coffee. Rooms also include a shower.

Excellent food and drink options.

The hotel restaurant serves a menu of light bar meals and standards, as well as a varied selection of traditional and contemporary favourites. The ale house specialises in a range of ales sourced from selected microbreweries which are changed each week to keep the list interesting and varied.

Negative Reviews

Strange shower arrangement.

Most hotels feature either en-suite bathrooms or a separate shared facility, the Salford Arms however, includes a shower in each room and a separate shared toilet for all rooms. The shower is not in a separate room (i.e.: a bathroom) but is in the same room as the bed, just in a separate cubicle in the corner.

Steep stairs with no lift.

The guest rooms are located above the pub and can only be accessed via a set of rather narrow and steep stairs. This can make it very awkward for guests travelling with large luggage or many bags.

Significant noise levels.

Many of the rooms face the busy main road and intersection outside the hotel and are therefore prone to excessive road noise for almost all the hours in a day. Another source of noise is the pub downstairs, which is directly below the rooms and can get quite noisy and rowdy, particularly on weekend nights.
