Positive Reviews

San Fran Central

The hotel boasts a spectacular location in an affluent and central area of San Francisco. It is close enough to most major sight to walk, but be prepared for the city's steep hills, especially on the way home. Guests found it very easy to find dining options in the area, and to get to major shopping areas like Union Square.

Top of The Mark

The hotel's rooftop lounge is a must-visit destination even for those who are not guests here. Top of the Mark boasts a fantastic drink and cocktail menu, and delicious tapas. A visit is totally worth it for the incredible 360-degree views of San Francisco, including the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Guests said the lounge had a comfortable atmosphere, and great entertainment with a live band.

Worth the View

Guests highly recommend booking a higher-floor room for the best views. You won't regret it.

Negative Reviews

Dated Decor

This is a historic property, but guests thought this was no excuse not to update. The hotel and the rooms are definitely due for refurbishment. Even the fitness centre is small and outdated.

Slow Lifts

The elevators seem to aggravate a lot of guests because they are slow, often out of order, and pretty much always busy. Half of the occupants are visiting the rooftop lounge. Many guests would have preferred to use the stairs, but unfortunately, they're for emergencies only.

Small Spaces

Some of the most basic rooms are rather small and have a small bathroom.
