Review highlights
Positive Reviews
  • Fantastic location amongst the hustle and bustle

When it came to exploring the city, many past guests were thrilled with the central location of the Orange Village Hostel. Situated just ten minutes from the popular Union Square on foot, the hostel is also within walking distance of many other popular San Francisco areas and attractions such as Chinatown and AT&T Park.

  • Staff always available and happy to help

Thanks to the hostel's policy to have a 24-hour front desk, staff members are always available to welcome and assist guests. In addition, it has also been regularly stated that the customer service provided is warm and accommodating - no matter what time it is in the day.

  • Extensive and tasty breakfast buffet

With a large selection of cold food items, make your own waffles and fresh coffee, the breakfast was highly praised by most former guests of the Orange Village Hostel. Whilst the breakfast is nothing groundbreaking, the amount of items provided was a welcome bonus - especially when taking into account the relatively inexpensive price for staying at the hostel.

Negative Reviews
  • Small, distressed rooms with uncomfortable beds

The rooms at the Orange Village Hostel were a common cause for complaint. Previous visitors said that the rooms were generally small and dated. Furthermore, the beds are apparently in a distressed and uncomfortable state.

  • Street noise a constant disturbance

Street noise, according to the accounts of numerous former visitors, was particularly disruptive throughout the day. Along with being in a busy area of the city, this negative aspect was generally attributed to the poor soundproofing of the rooms at the hostel.

  • Neighborhood not very friendly

The Orange Village Hostel's neighborhood was occasionally described as somewhat sketchy, with various past guests claiming that they were solicited by homeless people residing in the area.
