Positive Reviews

Very helpful and friendly hosts

This was by far what most impressed guests during their stay. They mentioned again and again that the hosts, Francesca and Peter, offered fantastic hospitality. While they were described as being incredibly welcoming and friendly, what most seemed to impress was their helpfulness and inside knowledge of the city.

Great location in the Colonial District

Guests absolutely loved the location of the guest house. The Colonial District is by far the most popular area in Santo Domingo for foreign visitors to stay. The guest house is right in the heat of this area, and guests mentioned that it was easy to get to the attractions, restaurants, shops and other amenities they were looking for.

Wonderful common areas

Many guests commented that the common areas of the guest house were especially cosy and charming. They especially liked the kitchen and breakfast area, which was said to be the perfect place to chill out and meet other guests from around the world.

Negative Reviews

Wi-Fi a little weak

Guests did not really have many good things o say about the Wi-Fi. The main problems seemed to be that it was unreliable, in that it was sometimes simply unavailable anywhere, and that the signal was quite weak, making it difficult to connect at all in some of the more distant bedrooms.

No mosquito nets

Some guests we surprised to find that no mosquito nets were provided. Considering the location in the tropics, and the presence of many mosquitoes, they had clearly expected these to be supplied.

Rooms can get a little hot

Guests mention that the rooms do not have air conditioning. While they do have fans to help with cooling, some found that these did not do a good enough job against the tropical heat and humidity.
