Positive Reviews

Fabulous location

Perhaps above all else, guests rate the location of the Boat House as one of the property's best features. Reviews often refer to the sweeping views across the Solent and also mention the nearby scenic views. Guests like being able to sit outside to enjoy al fresco dining.

Modern and airy rooms

The rooms at this B&B are found to be of an excellent standard, with many guests commenting on how spacious the accommodation is. Plus, the decor is fresh and beautifully themed for the area. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and, those who had one, the sea views.

Enjoyable dining

The on-site restaurant is the recipient of regular dining awards and the vast majority of reviews make it clear why. Guests find the food is nicely prepared and presented, as well as being delicious. The menu is not exactly aimed at budget-conscious guests but many guests felt the quality was worthy of the cost.

Negative Reviews

Occasional reports of poor service

While bad service doesn't seem to be a regular occurrence here, there are some reports indicating that standards do occasionally slip. A small number of guests found the service was very poor, citing how staff were unfriendly toward them.

Run out of menu items

Several guests were disappointed to find that the restaurant had run out out of a number of menu items. In some cases, these shortages limited the choices available on the menu considerably.

No Wi-Fi in rooms

The B&B only offers free Wi-Fi in public areas. Although a few guests seemed to manage to get a signal in their rooms, most weren't so lucky. Some felt this was a minor inconvenience while others feel that Internet access should come as standard, especially in a B&B with so few letting rooms.
