Positive Reviews

Helpful staff.

The staff at this hostel love their town and know every inch of it. They have plenty of advice not only for Sligo itself but also for the Northwest of Ireland. There is lots to do, and they can guide you through the best way to see and do it all.

Cosy common room.

Ireland isn’t known for its hot weather, so the open fire in the common room is a welcome sight when you arrive in after a day exploring the area. You can relax and watch some TV, connect to the Wi-Fi or just have a cup of tea and a chat.

Great kitchen with all the right utensils.

Often you’ll find that kitchens in hostels are poorly equipped, but this one has everything that you could possibly need for whatever meal you are cooking. Excellent for those travelling on a budget.

Negative Reviews

A little out of the way.

It seems that this hostel is located in a quiet place that is nice in the day but a little dark at night. This means that walking home from the pub in town might feel a little unsafe due to the traffic. This shouldn’t be a problem if you take a light.

Rooms not that clean.

The place is a good spot for the budget traveller but don’t expect too much in the way of cleanliness as it seems to be left up to the guests to clean up after themselves, especially in the kitchen. Not an ideal situation.

Not enough bathrooms facilities.

The shared facilities are supposed to serve eight rooms which is a bit optimistic. You won’t want to be in a hurry there in the morning as you might have to wait just to get into the toilet.
