Positive Reviews

Near the centre of Sydney

If you're looking to be within arm's reach of the CBD but want to avoid paying its inflated prices, this could be the place for you. Guests advise that there are regular bus services going to the city centre, with a stop right by the hotel. You are also ideally placed for the convention centre.

Honest guest house and pub

If you value a warm, authentic welcome and a down-to-earth character, you should fit in well here. Guests rave about the great, friendly atmosphere of the pub and the welcoming unpretentious staff.

Great value

OK, the accommodation is relatively basic, but guests are delighted with the value they get. They appreciate the continental breakfast provisions left for them and the excellent value of the bistro. The food, whilst not being extravagant, is good quality and plentiful too. What price too for the stunning views of Sydney Harbour Bridge?

Negative Reviews

It can get loud

The ambience of the pub downstairs is great, especially when live music is on. However, if you just want to relax in your room or get a good night's sleep, it's certainly not going to lift your spirits! Guest say the music on the weekend can get very loud, whilst traffic noise from the street in front can make it unbearable at times.

Difficult access

Getting into your room is not as easy as you might expect. Guests say the entrance is very narrow and it is quite challenging to get your bags up the stairs. Don't expect 24-hour reception either, staff seem only to be around in the pub's opening hours.

A bit basic

If you expect hotel standard professional accommodation you will almost certainly be disappointed. Guests exclaim their displeasure with sharing bathrooms and not having air-conditioning or a proper breakfast.
