Positive Reviews

Close to train stations

The Hotel MyStays Asakusa-bashi is located right next to Japan Rail train lines, making public transit easy. Guests noted that it's also a short walk to the Asakusabashi subway station. There's also a Lawson's convenience store attached to the hotel and several restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance -- giving instant access to all your needs.

Good value for your money

If you're looking for a clean hotel in Tokyo at an affordable price, this is a good bet. You won't find luxurious amenities, and some guests said it had the feel of a boring, business hotel - but most of them concurred the location was great and it was very functional.

Quieter neighborhood means you get some sleep

Away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown areas, the hotel is located in a more residential, quiet neighborhood.

Negative Reviews

Rooms are smaller

Space is a premium in Tokyo, so be prepared for tinier rooms. Some guests lamented that they didn't have room for storing their luggage. Others said even the double beds were much smaller than what they were accustomed to.

Book a non-smoking room if it bothers you

The strong odor of cigarette smoke bothered some guests who hadn't confirmed that they wanted a non-smoking room. For Western guests who've grown used to smoking bans indoor, this was an unwelcome way to sleep.

Language barrier can be tricky

Some visitors complained that they were not able to communicate clearly with the hotel staff due to language barrier. They reported that a few members of the hotel staff, while polite, couldn't understand their questions or requests.
