Positive Reviews

Location offers the best of both worlds

While this hotel is located in a nice, peaceful little enclave, it is within very easy reach of all the hustle and bustle Shinjuku is so famed for, including the wonderful shanty-style bars, clubs and eateries in the warren-like ‘Golden Gai' area. Being so close to both a metro and a train station is very convenient too.

Amiable receptionists do a good job

In addition to being super-friendly and eager to please, the proactive guys and gals who work at this hotel's reception desk are really rather good at speaking English. If they can help then they will, and they'll be genuinely happy to do so. Impressive.

Bathrooms are full of freebies!

In addition to a bathrobe, a face towel, a bath towel and a nylon wash towel, you'll find shampoo, rinse, body wash, and liquid hand soap in your bathroom, all complimentary. A toothbrush, a razor and some cotton swabs will also be waiting for you, as will some nice washable slippers.

Negative Reviews

Rooms aren't great for couples

There's no getting away from the fact that the rooms here are very small, even for a lone traveller. If you're looking to stay with a partner or companion then be warned: you WILL be in each other's pockets (and on each other's toes) much of the time.

Free breakfast is a token gesture

You get toast, a croissant and some juice/tea/coffee and that's it. Thankfully, there are loads of little eateries nearby that rustle up far more substantial offerings.

Beds aren't the best

Numerous visitors have taken issue with the not-so-comfy and small beds in the guest rooms.
