Positive Reviews

Quiet location yet close to town.

The hotel is surrounded by private gardens which are both very peaceful and picturesque. Guests appreciated being within walking distance of the town centre yet far enough from the noise and the crowds. Many enjoyed sitting out on the patio, relaxing and enjoying the lovely views of the Cornish countryside.

Comfortable and stylish rooms.

Guests were very complimentary about the style of their rooms stating that they were furnished with elegant furniture and upholstery. Similarly, the bathrooms were said to be well-presented and modern, equipped with quality fixtures and luxurious toiletries.

Great hospitality and customer service.

Negative Reviews

Long walk to the rooms.

There is no lift on the premises and some guests complained about having to climb several flights of stairs to get to their accommodation. Although the reception staff offered guests help with their luggage it would be advisable to ask for a ground floor room if you have any mobility issues.

Can get busy with wedding guests.

The hotel is a very popular venue for wedding receptions and some guests complained about not being able to access the lounge or the bar as it was full of wedding guests.

Breakfast can be a disappointing affair.

Some of the guests complained about waiting quite a while to receive their orders at breakfast and objected to the fact that items of food were not replenished in due time.
