The Grand Canal is a short walk away and via San Toma vaporetto all of Venice is easily accessible.  There are also numerous restaurants in the hotel's vicinity which serve the best of Italian cuisine and there's even a popular chocolate shop opposite the hotel that sells delicious sweet treats!

Friendly and helpful owners

The owners of Al Campaniel receive praise for their friendly and helpful manner. They are keen to make sure that their guests have an enjoyable stay and are ready to offer advice and information when asked. They also speak very good English, so you won't have any problems communicating with them.

Negative Reviews

Not all rooms have en-suite facilities

It came as a surprise to a few guests to discover that not all rooms have an en-suite toilet and shower. According to the hotel's owners, only superior double and triple rooms have en-suite facilities - other rooms have a private-use toilet and shower in an adjacent room.

Breakfast divides opinion

The complimentary breakfast receives mixed reviews. Some guests enjoyed the offering and felt it provided a good start to the day. Others felt it was a bit too basic and would have liked some cooked items as well.

Hotel a little hard to find

As is the case with many hotels in Venice, it can be a little tricky finding them in the narrow and sometimes confusing streets - the hotel's owners will happily provide directions.
