Location is wonderful

This hotel is quite close to the promenade, and you may get some lovely views of the bay depending on your room selection. The neighbourhood is quite lively with plenty of places to eat and drink within easy walking distance.

Excellent variety on the pub menu

Whether you're in the pub for drinks or food, there's plenty on the menu to choose from. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced, and there are so many beers available that you'll have trouble deciding which to have.

Beautifully quaint

This very old building has been renovated to a high standard but still has vintage touches here and there. The original artwork throughout the building is a big hit with guests, and the décor of the rooms is perfectly in keeping with the area.

Negative Reviews

Noisy pub

The downstairs pub is a lively place that plays music until the early hours of the morning. This is fine if you are a night owl, but if you want an early night's then you may feel somewhat disappointed. The music is very loud, and you can hear it throughout the hotel.

Poor ventilation

Some of the rooms at this hotel have very small windows that can't be opened very much. This leads to stuffy rooms that have no air or natural light in them. Guests feel that the website is misleading as the photos seem to suggest bright and airy rooms.
