Positive Reviews

Good pub atmosphere and cider

As every dedicated pub goer knows, a pub is nothing without ‘atmosphere’ and this pub seems to have it in spades Guests have appreciated the atmosphere of this place in their feedback as well as the drinks ‘A great place for a classic pub stay”, one said.

Friendly staff

The staff here got a lot of appreciation for their friendliness, which is part and parcel of a pub’s atmosphere Unfriendly staff can really spoil the experience, but that clearly is not the case here. Although, a stray bit of feedback has revealed that the staff aren’t always at their cheerful best.

Rooms clean and comfortable, good location

Guests have appreciated the rooms here as very clean and comfortable, definitely worth staying in Guests have praised the inn’s location, being near the places of interest in the area such as Corfe Castle and the steam railway.

Negative Reviews

Very untidy

Being a busy pub, guests have complained of being put off eating and drinking here because things weren't cleaned up on time, possibly because of low staff numbers.

Slow service

Guests and visitors have often complained of slow service here too The rhythm of country life is rather different from city life and very often, city people take offence if they have to wait for a while to be served a pint or a meal.

Refurbishment required

Some time back, some guests had mentioned that the inn was in need of refurbishment It seems that the management had been planning to set this matter right and hopefully, the inn has been redecorated by now.
