Countryside setting.

The Angel Inn is in a serene setting in the village of Wiltshire in Upton Scudamore. It was originally a 16th century coaching inn that has undergone a striking restoration. It retains a touch of the old with its wood furnishings that gives it a graceful appearance. The scenic, green countryside is irresistible to walkers as they can take many soothing walks in the lovely surroundings. All places of interest and importance are close by. The Westbury and Warminster, which is famous for its wool and corn market, are a ten minute drive. The Longleat Safari and Adventure Park is a 14 minute drive while the renowned monument of Stonehenge is a 34 minute drive from the inn.

Comfortable rooms.

The rooms are comfy and bright maintaining high standards of cleanliness. They are air conditioned and equipped with television, tea and coffee making facilities and radio. There is a wake up service provided on request. Every room has an en suite bathroom provided with complimentary toiletries.

Friendly staff and delicious food.

The inn houses guests travelling on business or who are on a holiday. There are meeting rooms to take care of business needs. The inn has very helpful, accommodating and friendly staff. The restaurant has a range of dishes on its menu. The breakfast and evening meals are exceptionally good. Dining is in the lovely walled outdoor garden in summer months. When it gets colder, guests can dine in the restaurant in front of open fires enjoying the warmth and the meal. Parking and Wi-Fi access is also free.

Negative Reviews

Rooms noisy owing to proximity to car park.

The rooms are in front of the car park and guests find the noise disturbing at nights and early mornings.

Carpets unusual texture.

Carpets have a sandy texture making it difficult to walk on with bare feet.

Bathrooms and beds need attention.

Bathrooms are mouldy and dirty. The single beds are provided with duvets that are not big enough to keep warm.
