About Armidale Cottages

Armidale Cottages in Workington is a charming, family-run bed and breakfast in the Lake District World heritage Site, close to quite a few past film locations.

The two rooms have a lot of old-world charm with oak beams, walk-in inglenook fireplaces, and wooden/stone flooring. The rooms have large beds, tea/coffee makers, free Wi-Fi, TVs and DVD players. Bathrooms are shared.

Set on a half-acre of land with a small orchard and garden where red squirrels can be seen foraging, the cottages retain many of the original features of the old buildings. Armidale Cottages have wood-burning stoves, a picnic area, and barbecue grills. The property is smoke-free and complimentary parking is available.

Guests can enjoy a hearty complimentary full-English or continental breakfast each morning in the dining room.

The property, popular with walkers and cyclists, offers access to Solway Firth, with lovely views of the Scottish mountains and Lake District. Local attractions include Wordsworth House and the Jennings Brewery.
